Utilizing computer controlled software and the same technology as in bladeless LASIK procedures, the non-thermal (cool) femtosecond laser can perform several steps of the cataract surgery (surgical incisions and division of the lens) with automated precision. The LenSx also can be used to treat astigmatism at the time of cataract surgery with incisions designed with the exactness of laser imaging as well.
